COMMUNION

Communion

There are many moments when we become conscious of the Divine. The sacrament of Communion is one of two sacraments in the United Church. The meal of bread and cup is symbolic of the great feast of life God calls us to share in.
During communion all are invited to be reminded of the feast of grace, comfort, release, healing, sustenance and call that is to be received and shared.
At Lowville we celebrate communion (with bread and juice) in the beginning of the service so that we can share the meal with our children before they go for Sunday School.
An opportunity for anointing is often part of the communion service, where people may come forward to a kneeler and receive the laying on of hands, a blessing and the anointing of oil on their forehead. All are welcome on the first Sunday of the month.
If you’re interested in membership or confirmation or would like to explore being part of our community we would be most pleased to extend the invitation to answer questions!
Please connect with the minister on Sunday morning or call the church office - 905-335-0911.
